CYBER SMART TIPS CHECKLIST
Let's get proactive & fully informed about cyber security
  • Implement 2-factor authentication* for all your social media accounts & website logins (where possible)
  • Regularly check www.scamwatch.gov.au for types of scams, news & alerts
  • Check www.cyber.gov.au for helpful advice on keeping your business protected online
  • Check up on companies through their direct channels of communication (i.e. phone or website), if you are unsure of a link in an email
  • Protect your devices by having Zero Trust Security**. This will mitigate you against online threats.
  • Don't be afraid to ask questions. If something doesn't look right, seek help from a trusted friend.
  • Keep your passwords protected by using a password manager.
  • Alway practise STRONG passwords that use multiple characters and numbers which make it harder to guess.
Please note:
*2-factor authentication: A two-step security verification process.
**Zero trust security: A zero trust security model, requiring all users to verify every time they login.

Check out the government website cyber.gov.au and read their page ‘Turn on multi-factor authentication’ (MFA). The link is below.

Scroll down the page and it shows you how to turn on MFA with guides for each program you want to activate it for. i.e. Facebook, Apple ID, Microsoft, etc. www.cyber.gov.au/learn/mfa
